Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool, and are deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Varied wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to help regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven with care by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their soft and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, indicating its superior durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from the harsh temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering comfort without feeling hot. And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dirt and dust. For気になる stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may occur. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
