Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. Strongly woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with no two being alike; each is an original, one-of-a-kind piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
