Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their way of life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains a high amount of natural oils to help with temperature regulation. These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
