Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to its high oil content, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort even in hot weather.
And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Gabbeh are rugs you can use for a long time. Why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, as well as weaving and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the unique charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
