Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as part of their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.

Daily Care

Use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove dust and debris along the pile direction.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed for shipping

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
