Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, hand-weaving them from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, along with a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original creation. They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur. This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
