Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, creating a feeling of coolness.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but also displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever, a unique one just for you?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dye. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
If requested, the pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
