Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to its high lanolin content, which helps regulate body temperature.

Daily Care

Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dirt and dust.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the wool dye.
The scent will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can also be removed before shipping.

If you request, the pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
