Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs made from plant-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a lot of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven with this wool dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, one by one, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original item.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but also as art to hang on the wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
