Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to the hand-knotted nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-knotted piece. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may occur. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
