Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who weave them by hand using plant-dyed wool while nomadic in Iran's Zagros Mountains. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
