Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing overheating.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, feature many animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
