Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, feature a fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool sensation.
And, of course, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Vacuum or sweep in the direction of the pile to remove dirt and dust.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping
The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
