Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs made from plant-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who are nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a lot of oil content to help regulate body temperature.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
