Characteristics of Hand-woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to efficiently regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
