Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, hand-knotted by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant-to-the-touch quality due to its high oil content, which helps with temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh is meticulously hand-knotted by Iranian nomads, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be placed on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
As these are hand-knotted, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
