This Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rug was custom-made to our special order size to suit the Japanese lifestyle.
It's the perfect size for an entrance mat, brightening up the entryway you use every day.
In addition to entryways, it's also a convenient size for other empty spaces, such as in front of a washbasin, on a balcony, or beside a bed.
It is characterized by its softness, plushness, and pleasant texture that can be used all year round.
As each rug is hand-woven and one-of-a-kind, please enjoy its unique design.
This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and because it takes more effort to weave, it is a Luri Baf Gabbeh, which is thinner and has a tighter weave than regular Gabbeh.
"Luri" means "fine" and "Baf" means "weave" in Persian.

Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are deeply rooted in their way of life, featuring long piles made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variat wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture with a high oil content, which helps with temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by these Iranian nomads who dye the wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their outstanding durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the unique characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And, above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created by the nomads' imagination, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being an original and unique piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
