Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps in temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive smell from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
