Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant feel with plenty of natural oils for effective temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs are made by hand-dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weaving each strand, resulting in a soft and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, helping to keep cool.
And, of course, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They are so artistic that they can be displayed on walls as art, not just on floors.
Why not find a special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a wet cloth to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, we can remove the pompoms attached to the corners and sides of the Gabbeh before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
