Characteristics of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, adept at regulating body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven with wool dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, are known for their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handmade items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment

The pom-poms located on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipment upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
