Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps in temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive smell from the dyes used on the wool. This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
