Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains. They are hand-woven from wool dyed with natural dyes. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye the wool with natural dyes and meticulously weave each thread by hand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, giving a cool feeling.
And, of course, their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, original piece.
You can lay them on the floor or even display them as art on the wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used for the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed for shipping

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
