Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and has a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbehs, hand-woven thread by thread by Iranian nomads using this natural dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbehs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbehs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.
And, above all, their artistic quality. Gabbehs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar item tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
