Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product comes from sheep that thrive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possessing excellent durability for survival and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their superior durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to their hand-woven nature, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and variations in dye. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment

Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
