Characteristics of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-knotted rugs made by the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variat, possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft to the touch with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbehs, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knotted by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Gabbehs that are tightly woven are said to last for 100 years, indicating their superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbehs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable, not feeling hot, in summer.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbehs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove dirt and dust along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-knotted item.
Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
