Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a lot of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, one by one, after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, making them extremely durable.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shady place.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used to color the wool may be present.
