Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a lot of oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And above all, there's its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
You can, of course, lay them on the floor, but also hang them on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can also be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
