Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who weave them by hand using vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The "Persia Variant" wool used in this product comes from sheep that live in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possessing excellent durability for survival and a soft, pleasant texture with abundant oils to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by these Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each thread from naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and delightful texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh rug is said to last for 100 years, showcasing its exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not discover your own special Gabbeh rug, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please understand these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon shipment

The pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you wish for the pompoms to be removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
