Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile that is deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven thread by thread by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Strongly woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And then there's its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For persistent stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms on the corners and sides of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish for the pom-poms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
