Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile that is deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For persistent stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
