Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who traverse the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, and adept at regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, showcasing its exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be hung on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
