Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool and deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to effectively regulate body temperature.
The Gabbeh rugs are made by hand-dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weaving each strand by Iranian nomads, resulting in a plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
