Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for excellent thermoregulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool.
These Gabbeh rugs, woven individually and meticulously by hand by Iranian nomads using natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from the drastic temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created by the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are suitable for laying on the floor, and beautiful enough to be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
