Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their lifestyle. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural oil, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
