Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains and is rich in lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven knot by knot by Iranian nomads from wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is highly durable, said to last 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
You can, of course, lay it on the floor, but it can also be displayed on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon shipment

The pompoms attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped without them, upon request.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
