This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and because it requires more effort to weave, it is a Luri-baft Gabbeh, which is thinner and has a tighter weave than regular Gabbeh rugs.
"Luri" means "fine" in Persian, and "baft" means "weave."

Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains and is rich in lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven knot by knot by Iranian nomads from wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-knotted, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-knotted items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
