Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, handwoven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective thermoregulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their soft and fluffy feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort even in hot weather.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap of the rug.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to their handmade nature, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handwoven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, a unique odor from the wool dyes may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we appreciate your understanding in advance.

Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
