Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For persistent stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
