Gabbeh are hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with long pile. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the nap.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated shade.

Important Points

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used to color the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
