Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs rooted in everyday life, handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective thermoregulation.
Gabbeh, made by dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weaving each strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated, not feeling hot, in summer.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are all part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
