Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads who graze their flocks in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant feel, containing a high amount of lanolin to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their soft and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the unique property of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung-out towel. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed upon request

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
