Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a high amount of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously weave each strand by hand, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
