Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a high amount of oil to enable it to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, offering excellent durability and superior temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If you notice stains: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
