Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai people, who are nomadic tribes in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture with a lot of oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These wools are dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh rug is carefully hand-woven by Iranian nomads, making them plush and soft to the touch.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
