Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a piece you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinct odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery if requested.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
