Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who graze their herds in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
If dirt is noticeable: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, dyeing inconsistencies, etc. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used for the wool.
This smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
