Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads thread by thread after the wool is dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, indicating their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, and each one is a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
