Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, and are made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in lanolin for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven knot by knot by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
