Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic people in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, making it soft and pleasant to the touch.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme daily temperature variations, are warm in winter and airy in summer, giving a feeling of coolness.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Gabbeh rugs are meant to be used for a long time. Why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
