Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as a staple of their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in oil content to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs are made by Iranian nomads who carefully dye this wool with natural dyes and hand-weave each strand, resulting in a plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, and each one is a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
