Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of fat to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh, woven painstakingly by hand, one strand at a time, by Iranian nomads after dyeing this wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their soft and fluffy feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or color variations. Please understand that these are part of the unique charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique smell from the dye used to color the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
