Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are dyed with natural plant dyes and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its exceptional durability.
Gabbeh rugs, originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
